Honda is reporting the Civic was the top seller in California for the year 2013. This puts the Civic, once again, ahead of the Toyota Prius, the winner in 2012.
For 2013 Honda sold 65,910 Civics. This restores the Civic to the top spot it held in both 2010 and 2011. Only in 2012 did the Prius outsell the Civic by 3,564 vehicles with a total of 60,688.
It is interesting to note the Honda sales total for 2013 does not include sales to corporate and government buyers. One can only assume that if those numbers were included some other car would hold the top spot. Not surprisingly, the Honda release doesn’t say what that other car might be.
Overall, the Honda Civic is the best selling car in America with over 300,000 sold.
